Picasso Colour Profile is an early work by artist Robert MacDonald, created around 1999 during his Pasaje de Picasso (Path to Picasso) phase. MacDonald, deeply inspired by Picasso’s art and philosophy, painted a young Picasso in a suit, tie, and with his signature cigarette, much like Picasso often portrayed his subjects. Reflecting on the piece, MacDonald notes that the colors came naturally, without much conscious thought.
This mixed media artwork combines hand-painted acrylics with a color canvas giclee, a popular technique among contemporary artists, resulting in a unique, “one of a kind” original piece. Signed by MacDonald, the artwork is painted with premium lightfast acrylics on cotton canvas and protected with a UV-resistant varnish.
The Frame: The 11″ x 14″ black frame, crafted from solid New Zealand Pine, is protected by high-quality polished glass and sealed with acid-free heavy backing paper. It includes a wall mounting bracket, wall pads, and features MacDonald’s embossed seal and registration label with a serial number for authenticity.
The Mat: The custom color-painted mat complements the artwork, adding a distinctive touch and enhancing its overall artistic appeal. Each piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring its originality and value for collectors and investors alike.
