ABSTRACT SIGNATURE™ Fine Art Apparel transforms original abstract paintings by Robert MacDonald into vivid, wearable designs. Each release is created to feel confident, modern, and unmistakably MacDonald, made for individuals who prefer art they can live with, not only display.
What We Create
Our garments are long-sleeve designer shirts featuring full-coverage abstract compositions, tailored with a chest pocket and a fitted profile. As the apparel line expands, new forms will be introduced, each held to the same standard: authentic art, intentional design, and lasting comfort.
How It’s Made
Every piece in the ABSTRACT SIGNATURE™ Fine Art Apparel line begins with an original abstract painting by Robert MacDonald. The artwork is captured, prepared, and rendered across the garment as an all-over composition. Some designs originate from paintings within the Abstract Auras™ Collection, while others derive from MacDonald’s broader body of abstract works. Each garment is developed to translate the character of the original painting into a refined, wearable format.
Important note: ABSTRACT SIGNATURE™ Fine Art Apparel is a separate trademarked apparel line. When a garment design is based on a painting from the Abstract Auras™ Collection, this origin is identified for collector clarity. The garment itself remains part of the ABSTRACT SIGNATURE™ Fine Art Apparel line and is not classified as an Abstract Auras™ Collection painting.
Releases and Availability
ABSTRACT SIGNATURE™ Fine Art Apparel is offered in Limited Releases at various times. When a release window closes, pricing returns to the standard rate and availability may change. Announcements for upcoming releases can be found on the MacDonald Gallery website and social channels.
Care and Longevity
Each garment is created to be worn, preserved, and appreciated over time. Materials are selected for durability and finish so that the printed artwork maintains its clarity. To preserve the garment’s character: machine wash cold, inside-out; hang dry preferred.
Proper care supports the longevity of the piece, allowing it to be worn and enjoyed for years while maintaining its place within the MacDonald Gallery legacy.
Provenance
Each piece in the ABSTRACT SIGNATURE™ Fine Art Apparel line is accompanied by a Signature Card, personally signed by Robert MacDonald and embossed with the MacDonald Gallery seal. This card is a formal provenance document that affirms the garment’s authenticity, its Limited Release status, and its place within the ABSTRACT SIGNATURE™ Fine Art Apparel lineage.
While distinct from the Certificates of Authenticity reserved for original artworks, the Signature Card serves an important parallel purpose. It marks the garment as a collectible release from the MacDonald Gallery, establishing a verifiable link between the apparel and the original painting from which its design was created.
ABSTRACT SIGNATURE™ Fine Art Apparel is developed at MacDonald Gallery in Nashville, Tennessee, where each garment is prepared, finished, and packaged with custom gallery materials. Production occurs through trusted international partners, while all design adaptation, branding elements, and final presentation are executed in Nashville.
